Job Summary

Fixed term 36972 per annum (depending on experience)

The role

  • The Programme Manager plays a key role within the Services Delivery team leading the delivery of Scottish Government and other loan and grant schemes ensuring excellent customer service efficient processes and achievement of agreed targets within budget.

  • Overseeing the successful delivery of existing schemes and supporting the development implementation and close down of new funding programmes.

  • Managing programme performance through effective planning governance stakeholder engagement risk management and financial oversight to achieve successful outcomes.

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with government funders and delivery partners acting as a trusted lead for scheme delivery and reporting.

  • Driving continuous improvement of systems processes and customer journeys to ensure services remain efficient compliant and customer focused.

The team

The Services Delivery team is responsible for administering and delivering loan and grant programmes ensuring customers receive a high-quality service while contractual commitments are met. The team works closely with colleagues across programme management finance learning and development and external stakeholders including the Scottish Government.

What you will do

  • Manage the day-to-day delivery of loan and grant schemes making sure services run smoothly and meet agreed KPIs SLAs budgets and customer standards.

  • Forecast check and manage finance-related activity for schemes including daily payment run checks and accurate reporting against financial objectives.

  • Identify operational risks resolve issues and take corrective action to protect service delivery sharing learning across the department.

  • Review customer journeys systems and processes to improve efficiency service quality and consistency across schemes.

  • Recruit manage motivate and develop team members so they are equipped to deliver effective efficient and customer-focused services.

What you will bring

  • Experience of managing operational delivery in a customer-facing service including meeting KPIs SLAs and agreed service standards.

  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills with experience of budget management payment checks reporting and accurate reconciliation.

  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce clear accurate and timely management information for funders and stakeholders.

  • A practical improvement-focused approach to reviewing systems processes and customer journeys to increase efficiency and service quality.

  • Strong communication skills with experience responding to enquiries information requests and complaints professionally and on time.

  • People management experience with the ability to recruit motivate support and develop team members in a busy operational environment.

  • The ability to prioritise solve problems and deliver results to tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
