Production Manager

As a Production Manager you will join our Portsmouth team to support our activities within the aerospace and defence manufacturing sector.

You will be responsible for planning coordinating and controlling activities across the production line to ensure products are delivered on schedule and within budget. Working closely with procurement manufacturing and logistics teams you will play a key role in maintaining production flow and supporting operational excellence

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan coordinate and monitor production activities to meet project schedules and cost objectives
• Manage the release of requisitions based on MRP outputs
• Coordinate with procurement teams to expedite amend or cancel orders as required
• Manage the end-to-end kitting process including order scheduling and works order release
• Coordinate flight store activities and ensure timely delivery through the clean room
• Monitor production progress and proactively address material or scheduling issues
• Ensure adherence to established processes and deadlines to support business and project requirements

Qualifications :

Required Skills:

• Experience in production control material planning or manufacturing operations
• Strong understanding of MRP systems and production scheduling principles
• Ability to coordinate activities across multiple functions including procurement and manufacturing
• Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to prioritise workloads and manage competing deadlines
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Required Qualifications:

• A Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering or equivalent military experience.
• Experience working within a production manufacturing or logistics environment
• Knowledge of production planning and inventory management processes

Desirable Skills:

• Experience within aerospace defence or other highly regulated industries
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP
• Knowledge of clean room kitting or stores management processes
• Continuous improvement or lean manufacturing experience
