Product Technologist

Sysco is currently recruiting for a Product Technologist to join the European Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) team on a permanent basis reporting to the Senior EU HUB FSQA Technical Manager. This role will play a critical part in supporting supplier management product compliance and due diligence activities across multiple product categories helping to ensure products meet Syscos quality safety and regulatory standards across European markets.

As a Product Technologist you will work closely with EU FSQA Managers Category Managers and suppliers to support the maintenance of supplier and product information ensuring compliance requirements are met and technical data is accurately maintained. You will play an important role in managing technical databases monitoring supplier certification status and supporting the delivery of quality and food safety standards across the business.

Our role is offering hybrid working in our Ashford office so you must be within a commutable distance to Ashford.

A key aspect of the role will involve supplier maintenance activities including monitoring GFSI certification status supplier audits SEDEX membership and performance scorecards. You will work with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure information remains current and any compliance risks are identified and communicated appropriately.

You will also support product maintenance activities including specification reviews artwork approvals product quality assessments and pack copy generation. Working alongside FSQA Managers you will help ensure products remain compliant with company policies and regulatory requirements while supporting the efficient management of product lifecycles across a range of categories.

In addition you will provide technical support for supplier queries complaint investigations specification audits and project activities. You will help maintain technical trackers provide updates for technical meetings and support the progression of specifications and artwork through agreed processes. Acting as a first point of contact in some areas you will work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple functions and markets to resolve issues and deliver business priorities.

Were looking for someone with a technical background within a food service food manufacturing or fast-paced QA/QC environment ideally supported by a degree in Food Science Food Technology or a related discipline. You will have a good understanding of food safety quality assurance and supplier compliance processes together with the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential as you will collaborate with suppliers and colleagues across multiple countries and business functions. You will be highly organised analytical and detail-oriented with strong Microsoft Office skills and the ability to identify trends and opportunities through data review. Professional working proficiency in English is required while knowledge of French would be advantageous.
