Summary:
The Procurement Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Procurement Business Partner in delivering efficient compliant and value-for-money procurement services across Elmbridge Borough Council. The postholder supports procurement activities for goods works and services ensuring procurement exercises are conducted in accordance with the Procurement Act 2023 the Councils Contract Procedure Rules and public sector procurement best practice.
Responsibilities:
Provide administrative and operational support for procurement activities across multiple Council service areas.
Assist in ensuring procurement exercises comply with the Procurement Act 2023 procurement regulations and Council Contract Procedure Rules.
Upload tender documentation manage supplier communications and maintain procurement records.
Assist in meeting statutory transparency obligations by publishing procurement notices and contract information.
Ensure procurement documentation is issued accurately and within required deadlines.
Comply with Council policies relating to health and safety confidentiality information governance and data protection.
Qualifications:
Five GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics or equivalent relevant experience.
Essentials:
Experience supporting public sector procurement exercises and compliant tendering processes.
Knowledge of public sector procurement legislation regulations and best practice including the Procurement Act 2023.
Experience using electronic procurement portals and tender management systems
