Job Summary
We are working closely with a local authority in Central Bedfordshireto assist with the appointment of a Private Sector Housing Team Leader on a 9-months contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: 27.00- 35.65 per hour
Summary:
The Private Sector Housing Team Leader is responsible for leading and managing the delivery of Private Sector Housing services ensuring that housing conditions are safe suitable and compliant with relevant legislation and statutory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Private Sector Housing team including Environmental Health Officers and Technical Officers ensuring the effective delivery of a wide range of private sector housing functions.
- Use statutory powers and appropriate enforcement measures to regulate improve and maintain housing conditions within the private rented sector.
- Ensure that private sector housing services are delivered in accordance with relevant legislation statutory guidance Council policies and professional standards.
- Support the delivery of the Councils Housing Assistance Policy and programmes contributing to housing renewal environmental sustainability and the maximisation of public and private investment in housing stock.
Qualifications:
- Recognised professional qualification in Environmental Health Housing Building Control or another relevant discipline.
- Relevant professional qualification or demonstrable equivalent experience in Private Sector Housing.
Essentials:
- Significant professional experience within Private Sector Housing Environmental Health Housing Enforcement or a closely related regulatory service.
- Substantial experience of dealing with complex housing conditions and enforcement cases.
- Experience of working with Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs) and associated regulatory requirements.
- Experience of using statutory powers and enforcement tools to improve housing conditions.
