Lead Construction Planner (Site)
Project: Carbon Capture
Location: North Wales
Project Type: EPCM
Reports To: Project Controls Manager
Role Purpose:
The Lead Construction Planner (Site) is responsible for developing maintaining and managing the integrated project schedule for a Carbon Capture project ensuring alignment across engineering procurement construction commissioning and interface scopes.
The role provides strategic planning and progress visibility to support decision-making optimize performance and ensure timely cost-effective delivery of project milestones in line with customer and corporate objectives.
Youll do/carry out:
- Develop maintain and monitor detailed project schedules and progress measurement systems covering FEED EPC and commissioning phases.
- Coordinate and consolidate inputs from engineering procurement construction and commissioning into a fully integrated master schedule.
- Support the Project Controls Manager in schedule reporting forecasting and variance analysis.
- Identify and communicate schedule risks opportunities and recovery actions.
- Interface with Project Management Engineering Construction and Contract teams to ensure planning data reflects current project status and strategy.
- Ensure compliance with project and corporate procedures systems and governance.
- Provide schedule updates and progress reporting to senior management and the customer.
- Develop and maintain earned value management (EVM) processes tracking physical and cost progress against baselines.
- Participate in multidisciplinary project reviews and support the development of resource and cost forecasts.
- Mentor and support junior planners and ensure consistency of planning methodologies across the project.
Youll have/bring:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Project Management or related discipline.
- Several years experience in project planning and controls within EPC/EPCM environments on large-scale petrochemical plants nuclear plants oil & gas or relatable energy projects.
- Demonstrated expertise in Primavera P6 and strong understanding of EVM and WBS structures.
- Experience integrating multi-discipline schedules across engineering procurement and construction.
- Familiarity with project controls systems and data analytics tools (e.g. Excel Power BI).
- Proven track record supporting projects through FEED to EPC execution phases.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
