Location: South Shields / Hybrid working (typically 2-3 days office working per week)

Contract: Full-time (37 hours) / Permanent

Salary: 65634 per annum plus benefits and relocation assistance (where applicable)

Serving more than 200 active employers Tyne & Wear Pension Fund is one of the most significant Local Government Pension Scheme funds in the country. As the fourth largest LGPS Fund in England and Wales we are responsible for administering pension benefits for around 200000 members and managing assets valued in excess of 15 billion.

This is a particularly exciting time to join us. Tyne & Wear Pension Fund now also delivers pensions administration services for the Teesside Pension Fund through a commercial contract. This creates one of the largest pension administration operations within the Local Government Pension Scheme serving a growing membership and employer base. As we continue to build on this success this leadership role will play a key part in driving innovation continuous improvement and service excellence across the organisation.

About the role

The Principal Operations Manager will provide strategic leadership for the Pension Funds Operations Teams overseeing the delivery of high-quality pensions administration services across one of the largest and most ambitious funds in the Local Government Pension Scheme. Reporting to the Head of Pensions Administration you will be responsible for helping shape operational strategy whilst ensuring service delivery meets legislative requirements performance targets and stakeholder expectations.

You will bring substantial experience of leading teams within a pensions environment ideally within the Local Government Pension Scheme. We are seeking a strong operational leader with a track record of managing performance improving services and delivering results within complex and customer-focused organisations.
