The Principal Full Stack Engineer (Agentic AI) is responsible for accelerating the development of our Agentic AI platform and applications by; understanding and identifyingoptimalcomponents to address business need architectingthe solutionguidingand mentoringthe team andensuringqualityreliabilityand scalabilityofthe solution.

This position reports to the Senior Director of AI and Data Strategy and is part of the AI and Data Team located in Cambridge UK and will be an on-site role.

In this role you will have the opportunity to:

• Design andlead the delivery ofAbcams Agentic AI platform andapplications including RAG systems and agent workflowsfor use by bothinternaland externalAbcamcustomers.
• Establish engineering best practices for GenAI/LLM applications including system design patterns evaluation approaches reliability scalability and maintainability standards across the AI engineering lifecycle.
• Act as a technical leader by mentoring engineers influencing architectural direction and driving the successful delivery and adoption ofAgentic AI capabilities.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Strong software engineering capability primarily in TypeScript(with Python asanadditionalbenefit)with backend and API development skills.
• Demonstrated ability to design deploy andoperateproduction-grade AI systems withfocuson reliability scalability and performance.
• ExpertiseinAgenticAI systems: RAG prompt engineering LLM integrationMCPagentic workflows model evaluation fine tuning.
• Cloud infrastructureexpertisein the deployment of AI apps (AWS preferred).
• Expertisein CI/CD best practice including orchestrationcontainerisationand testing.
• Strong inter-personal skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teamstotranslate business problems into technical solutions.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Monorepotechnologies (nxlerna) infrastructure-as-code technologies (eg Terraform) multi applicationdeployment pipelines frontend development framework (eg React Angular Svelte)
• Multi-agent orchestration tooling(LangGraphLangChainPocketFlow) evaluation of promptsagentsand pipelines in multi-agent solutions
• Neo4J or a similar knowledge graph database technology
