Overview of the role:
Were looking for an experienced  Principal Engineer (Intrinsic Safety) specialist to support and lead certification activities within a high-performing engineering team. This is a key role combining technical expertise team support and project ownershiphelping ensure safe compliant equipment for use in explosive atmospheres while driving performance and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and deliver ATEX UKEx and IECEx certification activities in line with ISO 17025 and ISO 17065
• Act as a technical authority providing guidance to clients and internal teams on certification requirements
• Support the Engineering Manager with team performance utilisation targets and project delivery (time cost scope)
• Drive continuous improvement across certification processes to enhance efficiency and client value
• Develop quotations review certifications and build strong client and stakeholder relationships

Qualifications :

Essential

• Full Driving Licence for use in the UK
• Degree in Electronics
• ATEX UKEx and IECEx certification  experience.

Desirable

• Supervision of Engineers 
• Target setting and measurement
