Im working with a leading environmental consultancy thats looking to appoint a Principal Ecologist to join its growing ecology team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced consultant ready to lead complex projects mentor ecologists and play an active role in business development and team growth.
The Role
- Lead terrestrial ecology surveys including UK Habitat Classification and protected species work.
- Produce and review high-quality technical reports including PEAs EcIAs BNG assessments and protected species reports.
- Manage projects from proposal through to delivery ensuring quality budget and programme targets are met.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while supporting new business opportunities.
- Mentor junior ecologists and provide technical leadership across the team.
About You
- 4 years ecological consultancy experience.
- Degree in Ecology or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation habitat surveys and protected species licensing.
- Holder of at least one protected species survey licence.
- Experience managing projects reviewing technical work and leading teams.
- Full CIEEM membership (or eligible).
- Full UK driving licence.
