Overview

Our Digital Solutions team has delivered complex technology programmes for utilities across Europe and other global markets helping clients implement enterprise-scale OT and IT solutions including Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Meter Data Management Systems (MDMS) Distribution Management Systems (DMS) SCADA and Grid Operations Platforms DER Management Systems (DERMS) Customer Information Systems (CIS) Enterprise Integration Platforms Cloud and Hybrid Architectures and Grid Edge Solutions.

TRC is seeking an experienced Principal Infrastructure Architect to join our Digital Solutions Delivery organisation. Reporting directly to the Chief Architect this role serves as a senior technical leader responsible for the architecture design governance and successful delivery of enterprise-scale utility technology programmes.

The Principal Infrastructure Architect will act as the technical authority across multiple projects and strategic client engagements providing leadership from solution definition through implementation and operational transition. The role combines deep technical expertise with strong delivery leadership ensuring solutions are architecturally sound operationally resilient commercially viable and aligned with client business objectives.

The successful candidate will work closely with executive stakeholders programme managers delivery managers project managers solution architects engineers and client leadership teams to deliver complex IT/OT transformation initiatives across the utility sector.

Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end Infrastructure Architecture for complex utility and energy transformation programmes.
  • Act as the senior technical authority on assigned projects and delivery portfolios.
  • Define system application integration infrastructure security and data architectures.
  • Establish and enforce architectural standards patterns and governance processes.
  • Lead technical design reviews architecture assurance activities and solution approvals.
  • Provide technical oversight throughout delivery testing deployment and operational handover.
  • Support business development bid responses solution shaping and technical due diligence activities.
  • Mentor and develop Solution Architects Technical Leads Systems Engineers and Integration Specialists.
  • Drive continuous improvement of TRC delivery methodologies frameworks accelerators and reusable assets.
  • Build trusted advisor relationships with client executives architects and operational stakeholders.
  • Ensure solutions align with TRC standards for quality security reliability scalability and maintainability.
  • Provide technical leadership across cloud on-premises hybrid and edge architectures.
  • Support programmed governance risk management issue resolution and executive reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with the Chief Architect to evolve TRCs architecture capabilities standards and strategic direction.

The Principal Infrastructure Architect is expected to:

  • Operate as a recognized technical leader within TRCs Digital Solutions business.
  • Influence strategic technology decisions both internally and with clients.
  • Provide leadership across multiple concurrent programmes.
  • Drive delivery excellence and technical quality across the organization.
  • Balance technical innovation with practical delivery outcomes.
  • Create and maintain a high-performance culture focused on collaboration accountability and customer success.
  • Support capability growth across architecture engineering integration cloud data and operational technology disciplines.
  • Serve as a mentor and role model for emerging architects and technical leaders.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering Computer Science Information Systems or a related discipline.
  • 12 years of experience delivering enterprise software systems integration or utility transformation programmes.
  • 5 years in a senior architecture leadership role.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale IT/OT integration programmes.
  • Strong consulting and client-facing experience.
  • Demonstrated success delivering complex utility technology programmes.
  • Experience leading geographically distributed technical teams.
  • Experience contributing to bids proposals business cases and executive-level presentations.
  • Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.

Travel

  • Up to 40% travel depending on programme requirements.

Compensation: In accordance with local law the salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience education skill level geographical location and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation:Employee may be eligible for participation in the Companys annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company Business Segment and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
