At Atos we help organisations transform the way they design build and operate software. As a Presales Application & Software Architect you will play a key role in shaping complex application modernisation and product engineering opportunities for enterprise and public sector customers.
This is a strategic customer-facing architecture role focused on helping organisations transition from traditional project-based delivery models to modern product-centric cloud-native operating models. Working closely with customers engineering teams delivery leaders and commercial stakeholders you will define scalable application architectures transformation roadmaps and modern engineering solutions that accelerate innovation improve delivery performance and reduce technical debt.
You will act as a trusted advisor guiding customers through application modernisation software engineering transformation cloud adoption and platform engineering initiatives.
The Opportunity
The Presales Application & Software Architect is a strategic customer-facing role within the Atos UK&I Digital Engineering and Application Services Practice.
You will help customers transition from traditional project-based delivery models to product-centric cloud-native and service-oriented operating models. Working closely with customer stakeholders engineering teams delivery leaders and commercial teams you will shape scalable application architectures modern software engineering platforms and transformation roadmaps.
This is an opportunity to work with enterprise and public-sector customers on complex digital transformation initiatives helping them modernise legacy estates improve software delivery effectiveness and unlock the benefits of modern engineering practices.
- Lead the design of enterprise application and software engineering transformation solutions.
- Define target application architectures aligned to business capabilities and customer objectives.
- Design modern software solutions using microservices APIs event-driven architectures and cloud-native principles.
- Assess legacy application landscapes and recommend modernisation approaches including replatforming refactoring decomposition and cloud migration.
- Develop product-centric operating models supporting agile delivery platform engineering and value-stream-based organisations.
- Define integration architectures leveraging APIs event streaming service meshes and integration platforms.
- Embed security resilience observability and performance best practices into solution designs.
- Collaborate with cloud infrastructure security data and DevOps specialists to develop end-to-end transformation propositions.
- Support client workshops bid responses technical presentations and solution governance activities.
- Contribute to the evolution of Atos application modernisation offerings reference architectures and engineering accelerators.
Skills We Cant Do Without
- Application Architecture & Modernisation application transformation legacy modernisation and cloud adoption.
- Modern Software Architecture microservices APIs event-driven architecture and cloud-native design.
- Product-Centric Engineering Agile delivery product operating models and platform engineering.
- Cloud & Container Technologies Azure AWS or GCP plus Kubernetes OpenShift Docker or serverless platforms.
- Presales & Stakeholder Engagement solution shaping customer workshops bid support and stakeholder management.
Nice to Have
- TOGAF or equivalent architecture certification.
- Azure AWS or GCP certifications.
- Experience in Government Defence Financial Services or other regulated sectors.
- Platform engineering and developer experience tooling.
- Large-scale digital transformation programme experience.
