Premises Manager – Yeovil

A well-established school in Yeovil is seeking an experienced Premises Manager to oversee the effective day-to-day running of its buildings and grounds. This is an important operational position for someone who takes pride in maintaining a safe and welcoming school environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with school leadership contractors and support staff to ensure the premises remain secure compliant functional and well maintained.

• Take overall responsibility for the daily operation and maintenance of the school site.

• Manage opening closing security and keyholding procedures.

• Conduct regular site inspections and identify maintenance requirements.

• Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance across the premises.

• Monitor heating lighting alarm CCTV and other site systems.

• Maintain records relating to health and safety inspections and contractors.

• Liaise with external contractors and supervise work completed on site.

• Support fire safety water hygiene emergency procedures and statutory checks.

• Manage cleaning waste grounds and general site presentation.

• Report significant maintenance or compliance issues to senior leadership.

• Previous premises facilities caretaking or site management experience.

• Strong knowledge of building maintenance and health and safety procedures.

• Ability to manage contractors and coordinate multiple tasks.

• Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills.

• Confident communication and practical problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to work independently and respond calmly to urgent issues.

• Relevant maintenance or trade qualifications would be advantageous.
