Premises Manager – Sherborne

A welcoming school in Sherborne is seeking an experienced Premises Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation maintenance security and general upkeep of the school site.

The successful applicant will work closely with the schools leadership and administrative teams to ensure the premises remain safe functional and suitable for pupils staff and visitors throughout the academic year.

• Take overall responsibility for the daily operation of the school premises.

• Manage planned and reactive maintenance across the site.

• Carry out regular inspections of buildings grounds and facilities.

• Coordinate external contractors and monitor completed works.

• Maintain records relating to maintenance inspections servicing and compliance.

• Monitor heating lighting water alarms access systems and other site services.

• Oversee general cleanliness and presentation of the school site.

• Ensure emergency exits fire routes and access areas remain clear.

• Assist with health and safety and statutory compliance requirements.

• Coordinate room setups for examinations meetings assemblies and school events.

• Previous experience within premises facilities estates or site management.

• Strong practical knowledge of general building maintenance.

• Good understanding of health and safety within a busy environment.

• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

• Ability to prioritise urgent maintenance issues effectively.

• Confident communication skills when dealing with contractors and school staff.
