Job Summary

Port Services at Konecranes focuses on the service maintenance and repair of lifting equipment and automation solutions within ports harbours and terminals - equipment includes mobile harbour cranes straddle carriers andcontainer handling equipment to name but a few. 

We are recruiting a Port Service Engineer to carry out the maintenance and repair of this equipment. 

All our customers are located in coastal areas so being willing to travel is a key requirement for this role as well as being electrically-qualified. We are looking for candidates who are ideally based in the north of the UK preferably in the northeast - Newcastle Gateshead Middlesbrough or the Humber area. 

From time to time this role can also offer the opportunity to work overseas but this is not a mandatory requirement. 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities: 

  • Electrical installation commissioning inspection and testing including service and repair of Port Solution products such as harbour cranes and straddle carriers 

  • Trouble- shooting equipment malfunctions primarily in Electrical equipment Drive technologies and PLCs in an industrial environment.  

  • Consulting with customers on repair and safety related issues 

  • Accurate and descriptive problem reporting 

  • Completion of inspection and examination documentation as appropriate 

  • Consulting with customers on repair and safety related issues 


Qualifications :

What we are looking forin you: 

  • Electrically qualified with a basic understanding of mechanics andhydraulics 

  • Experience of Siemens S7preferable 

  • Good attention to detail. 

  • Be organised and self-motivated person. 

  • Computer proficient including basic networking and component diagnostics. 

  • Familiar with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) and LOLER 

  • UK drivers licence 

  • Ability to work at height 

  • Able to spend periods of time away from home (up to two weeks at a time)
