Planning Officer
Job Summary
- Manage a caseload of planning applications and related casework.
- Assess and determine planning applications in accordance with planning legislation and policy.
- Prepare reports recommendations and decision notices.
- Provide professional planning advice to applicants residents councillors and stakeholders.
- Conduct site visits and attend meetings as required.
- Negotiate planning solutions and recommend appropriate outcomes.
- Contribute to planning policy development management and other service areas as needed.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external agencies.
- Ensure work meets agreed quality standards and statutory timescales.
- Support the broader Planning and Building Control Service in achieving its objectives.
- Experience in a Planning Service Local Authority or similar planning environment.
- Proven ability to manage planning applications and casework.
- Strong knowledge of planning legislation policy and development management processes.
- Excellent report-writing and analytical skills.
- Proficient communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience providing planning advice and recommendations.
- Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Degree or qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline.
- Membership of RTPI or working towards professional accreditation.
- Experience across multiple planning specialisms.
- Local Government planning experience.
- 32.46 per hour (Umbrella)
- 4 Month Contract
