Job Summary

Physiotherapy Assistant – Specialist Bariatric Rehabilitation. Ribble Court Care Home

  • Salary: £16.35 per hour
  • Hours: 24 – 30 hours over 4 weekdays per week (no weekends)
  • Band 4 Equivalent; relevant rehabilitation experience required

We are looking for an experienced Physiotherapy Assistant to join our specialist 7-bed bariatric rehabilitation service at Ribble Court Care Home.

Working alongside our registered Physiotherapist you will support the delivery of individual rehabilitation programmes designed to improve residents’ mobility strength function and independence with the aim of enabling them to return home following their period of rehabilitation.

This is a hands-on role working with a small defined caseload of seven bariatric residents with complex rehabilitation needs.

About the role and Responsibilities:

  • deliver rehabilitation and exercise programmes under the instruction of the Physiotherapist and in close collaboration with the nursing and care team;
  • support residents with mobility strengthening and functional activity;
  • encourage and motivate residents to work towards their individual rehabilitation goals;
  • observe record and report residents’ progress or changes in presentation;

What are we looking for

  • Previous experience in a physiotherapy rehabilitation or similar role is essential.
  • Experience supporting people with complex mobility and rehabilitation needs.
  • Bariatric rehabilitation experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • A relevant qualification such as Sports Therapy Physiotherapy or Rehabilitation would be desirable.
  • A positive person-centred approach and the ability to engage and motivate residents who may face physical psychological or emotional barriers to rehabilitation.
  • Good communication and confidence using digital care records system
