Job Summary
Physiotherapy Assistant Cambridge Permanent/Full Time 37.5 Inpatients/Outpatients
Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital are looking for a Physiotherapy Assistant to join our Physiotherapy department on a full time permanent basis. The physiotherapy assistant will assist the multi-disciplinary team to provide exemplary physiotherapy care within the physiotherapy department and on the wards.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Assist registered Physiotherapists in delivering physiotherapy treatments.
- Support patients with:
- Prescribed exercises
- Mobility practice
- Therapeutic activities
- Prepare treatment rooms and therapy equipment.
- Monitor and report patient responses or concerns to supervising therapists.
- Help patients use mobility aids safely (e.g. walking frames).
- Maintain clean and store equipment in line with infection control standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients and the multidisciplinary team.
Who were looking for:
The successful candidate will be compassionate patient-focused and able to support physiotherapists in delivering safe and effective rehabilitation. They will be comfortable working with patients recovering from illness surgery or injury and will thrive in a team-based healthcare environment.
Key skills: Patient care rehabilitation support mobility assistance communication teamwork infection control equipment management and adaptability.
- Understanding of physiotherapy assistant duties gained through training and induction.
- Previous experience in a healthcare and/or social care setting or a relevant qualification such as an NVQ.
- Knowledge of:
- Mobility aids
- Basic anatomy
- Therapeutic exercises
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to follow instructions and adapt to changing workloads and routines.
- Previous inpatient and ward-based experience.
Shifts Patterns:37.5 hour working week across 7 days Monday - Sunday
