What youll need
We are looking for individuals with a strong background in applied physiology. You will have an understanding of the coaching and training process and how the physical social and psychological development of young people can influence these.
In addition to this background you will have an understanding of athlete health and wellbeing athletic development and how positive athlete environments are created within pathway & performance programmes. Youll need to be committed to creating the most science-informed sporting system in the world enabling all athletes in Wales to thrive and making winning well more likely.
Youll be able to work across multiple project streams developing strong relationships both internally and externally. You will also have the curiosity and passion to experiment with new ways of working and to continually evolve and improve how we support World Class Athletes and enhance athlete development practices across pathways within Wales.

You will contribute to our understanding and learning by working with coaches and athletes in individual sports and across the Welsh system as a whole. You will help to identify explore plan and deliver on projects that are aligned to our Institute purpose. You will support our learning around enhancing athlete development across pathways and our sharing of this with everyone that needs to know
Who youll work with
You will need to develop strong relationships with coaches and other staff in sports members of the sport system institute services team and wider Sport Wales colleagues to support our partners to identify co-create and deliver athlete development projects across Wales. You will need to collaborate with other key stakeholders including athletes and other support staff across the UK performance sport system Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) and Universities.
