Physics Teaching Role in an Independent School

An independent school in Nottingham is seeking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic Physics Teacher to join its successful Science department from September. About the Role

You will teach Physics across Key Stage 3 Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 delivering engaging and intellectually stimulating lessons that inspire curiosity and scientific understanding.

Students will study topics including forces energy electricity waves motion magnetism atomic structure astrophysics and particle physics while developing practical analytical and mathematical skills.

You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Physics examinations supporting students in achieving excellent academic outcomes and progression to higher education and STEM-related pathways.

You will work collaboratively within a successful Science department while benefiting from smaller class sizes specialist laboratory facilities excellent resources and a strong focus on personalised learning.


Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Physics across KS3 KS4 and KS5

  • Deliver engaging practical and theory-based Physics lessons

  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Physics examinations

  • Plan and supervise practical laboratory investigations

  • Assess student work and provide clear constructive feedback

  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records

  • Maintain safe laboratory procedures and environments

  • Support STEM enrichment and departmental initiatives

Candidate Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching Physics at secondary level

  • Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently

  • Strong subject knowledge in Physics

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

Desirable

  • Experience teaching A-Level Physics

  • Experience working in an independent school setting

  • Ability to contribute to STEM enrichment activities

  • Strong track record of examination success
