Job Summary
3-month contract with a local authority
Summary
- The Personal Advisor role is a 3-month contract with a local authority designed to support young people aged 1625 who are leaving care. This position is crucial in aiding their transition to independent living by providing practical emotional and developmental support. The aim is to help care leavers achieve positive outcomes in education employment housing and overall wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing support to care leavers serving as a consistent and trusted point of contact.
- Develop implement and review Pathway Plans in accordance with statutory requirements.
- Assist young people in developing life skills including budgeting cooking and tenancy management.
- Encourage and empower young people to make informed decisions about their future.
- Help care leavers secure suitable accommodation and sustain tenancies.
- Support access to education training and employment opportunities.
- Offer guidance on financial management benefits and entitlements.
Requirements
- Essential Experience Required
- Experience working with young people particularly those in care or leaving care is highly desirable.
- Experience in a support youth work housing or social care environment.
- Experience working with vulnerable individuals and managing challenging behaviors.
- Experience working with young people particularly those in care or leaving care is highly desirable.
- Essential Qualifications Required
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Health & Social Care Youth Work or a related field (desirable).
- GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths.
- Willingness to undertake relevant training and development.
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Health & Social Care Youth Work or a related field (desirable).
Additional Information
- Working hours: 28 hours per week
- DBS required.
- Driving license required.
- Location: 2 Alice Square Birkenhead Merseyside CH41 2YA United Kingdom
- We operate on a bi-weekly schedule.
