A busy secondary school in Hemel Hempstead is seeking a Performing Arts Technician to support its drama and performing arts departments.
The successful candidate will assist with the technical preparation of lessons rehearsals productions and performances helping staff and pupils make effective use of the schools specialist facilities.
Prepare drama studios theatres stages and performance spaces.
Set up lighting sound microphones and other technical equipment.
Support rehearsals and practical performing arts lessons.
Assist with school productions and live performances.
Operate technical equipment during events where required.
Carry out routine equipment checks and basic maintenance.
Assist with stage set and prop preparation.
Maintain an organised inventory of technical equipment.
Ensure equipment is safely stored after use.
Follow relevant health and safety procedures at all times.
Previous experience in theatre performing arts live events or technical production.
Practical knowledge of lighting and sound equipment.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work calmly during live performances.
Good attention to detail.
Comfortable working alongside young people and teaching staff.
Education-sector experience would be advantageous.
