Introduction
Lewisham Council Pension Fund part of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) has over 27000 members and 40 scheme employers. A vacancy has arisen and we now have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team.
Whats the role
We are looking for a Pension Support Officer to work within our in-house Pensions Team. Your key responsibilities will include;
Support the day to day administration of the LGPS.
To provide support on all project work as required such as annual benefit statements pensions increase end of year processes valuation etc.
Whats in it for you
We have a permanent opportunity for a Pensions Administrator and your key responsibilities will include;
- To provide day to day support to the pensions team including: Scanning indexing and tasking daily post.
- Interpretation of current and previous LGPS Scheme regulations at a basic level to be able to make decisions relating to new starters opt outs and refunds.
- Processing basic calculations
What were looking for
We are looking for a competent candidate with some pensions knowledge good office experience and excellent customer service. You will be self-motivated possess good communication and numeracy skills and have good attention to detail. You will be a team player providing support to other members of the Pensions Team and help contribute to service improvement.

Location
This role is full time office based working from our modern offices at Laurence House in Catford.

Salary
34863 to 35892 per annum (Scale 5)
N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale) which is subject to evidential proof.
