Salary: Starting salary: 27007.50. After probation salary increases to 28500

Hours: Monday to Friday mixture of shifts between 8am 6pm. Occasional Saturday shifts are also required.

What are we looking for

The Pre Registration Officer is responsible for ensuring that all patient demographic and financial information is collected verified and completed prior to the patients visit.

The role supports a smooth patient journey by preparing registrations in advance reducing delays on arrival and ensuring financial clearance and authorisation are in place.

You will work closely with the Patient Access team and other departments to deliver a high quality patient first experience.

What will your duties include

  • Collect and process patient demographic and financial information for: Inpatients Outpatients and day cases.
  • Ensure all records are accurate complete and verified before appointments
  • Monitor and manage pre registration work queues.
  • Prioritise patients based on appointment dates and urgency.
  • Liaise with insurance companies embassies or sponsors and third party payers
  • Verify insurance authorisations guarantees of payment and financial eligibility
  • Contact patients to collect missing information and send required documentation
  • Provide cost estimates and quotations to self pay patients.
  • Collect payments before the patient visit where required
  • Contribute to an efficient seamless patient journey.
  • Help ensure patients arrive fully prepared for their visit.
  • Promote use of MyChart (patient portal) for self-management.
  • Maintain accurate data in hospital systems.
  • Cross train across Patient Access functions when needed.
  • Support wider administrative and operational tasks

What we need from you

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent customer service and patient focused approach
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience in private healthcare or patient access (preferred)
  • Knowledge of insurance processes and authorisations (preferred)
  • Experience working with international patients or embassies (preferred)
