What Youll Do At Elekta:
The Patent Attorney will provide support and guidance on all matters related to IP with support from Head of IP/Senior Patent Attorneys.
Responsibilities:
Provide training to clients (e.g. engineering & product management) on IPR and related matters.
Liaising with engineering & product management to understand and identify IP protection needs to include identification of opportunities for patents trademarks designs copyright and trade secrets.
Invention harvesting and assessment of invention disclosures IP filing strategies prior art searching & review drafting and prosecution of patent applications (some of which will be handled directly and the rest by outside counsel with oversight by Elekta Patent Attorney)
Identifying and advising on potential third party IPR risk in line with Elektas IPR risk. management strategy and working with a Senior member of the IPR team to manage any potential third party IPR infringement risk.
What Youll Bring:
University education in science or engineering and part qualified as a Patent Attorney in a primary IPR country (for example Certificate of IP or UK foundation exams or equivalent)
1-3 years post-qualification experience as a patent attorney in-house or in private practice
Competent in patent drafting/prosecution/oppositions (direct/indirect)/infringement & validity opinions
Adept at the use of Microsoft Office products
Superb oral and written communication skills
Strong advocacy skills
Strong scientific background and knowledge
Sound knowledge of IP law globally

Work Pattern (you are required to work from the Crawley HQ 4 days a week with 1-day WFH)
