Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an empathetic organized and proactive Pastoral Manager to join a highly supportive primary school in Birmingham.
Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team SENCo and Designated Safeguarding Lead you will play a central role in nurturing the social emotional and mental health needs of pupils across Early Years Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

As Pastoral Manager you will lead on pastoral interventions attendance tracking and day-to-day pupil welfare to remove barriers to learning and promote positive behaviour.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver 1:1 and small-group nurture interventions (e.g. emotional regulation social skills self-esteem bereavement support).
Manage day-to-day pastoral concerns responding calmly and effectively to pupil anxiety or behavioral challenges.
Monitor pupil attendance and punctuality conducting home visits and working with families to improve engagement.
Act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) maintaining meticulous CPOMS records and attending multi-agency meetings when required.
Build strong trusting relationships with parents and carers to provide guidance and early help support.

Experience: Proven experience in a pastoral child welfare HLTA or learning mentor role within a primary school or early years setting.
Specialist Knowledge: Sound understanding of primary-age child development positive behaviour management and safeguarding procedures (KCSIE).
Skills: High emotional intelligence active listening skills resilience and the ability to maintain composure during challenging situations.
Qualifications: Relevant degree NVQ Level 3/4 in Childcare/Youth Work or ELSA qualification is highly desirable.
Compliance: Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service (or willingness to process one).
