Summary
- The Parks Operative will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean safe and well-presented parks service during the peak summer months. This position is essential for ensuring that outdoor spaces are kept to a high standard for both residents and visitors. The primary focus will be on litter picking and general maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
- Perform litter picking duties across parks and open spaces.
- Maintain and ensure the cleanliness of public areas to a high standard.
- Assist with general environmental upkeep tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with the parks team to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Adhere to health & safety guidelines and environmental standards.
- Use vehicles to travel between sites as required.
- Respond flexibly to changing work demands especially during peak seasonal periods.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar outdoor environmental or maintenance role is desirable.
- Experience working as part of a team in a physically active environment.
- Experience performing manual tasks in outdoor settings.
- Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
- Basic education (GCSE level or equivalent) is desirable.
Additional Information
- Working hours: 37 hours per week Wednesday to Sunday.
- Reason for vacancy: Additional staff needed during summer months.
- Length of contract: 4 months.
- Flexibility with working hours is required.
- The role operates on a bi-weekly schedule.
