Ipswich Borough Council are looking for a self-motivated and highly customer-focused individual to join our Processing Team within Parking Services. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a friendly supportive and professional team delivering essential services across Ipswich.
Parking Services are responsible for
- managing parking provision across council car parks and on-street
- managing and delivering the residents parking scheme
- enforcing parking restrictions across the town
- recovery of parking fees and related enforcement activity.
The Processing Team plays a key role in ensuring that administration appeals and Parking Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) are handled efficiently accurately and in line with legislation.
What youll be doing
- Managing the second stage of the Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) process
- Reviewing appeals and preparing written responses
- Progressing PCN cases in line with legislation
- Responding to enquiries from customers
- Advising customers on parking permits and processing applications
- Administration related to clamping and removal of vehicles
- Managing the residents parking permit scheme
- Reconciling and reporting income.
About you
Essential:
- Experience in a customer-focused environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong IT skills and ability to work across systems.
Desirable:
- Parking or customer service experience.
You will be required to complete a City & Guilds Level 2 Award (Parking).

Working pattern
- Hybrid Working
- Hours of work are 19 hours a week over 3 days (likely to be Wednesday Thursday and Friday).
