Mears are excited to announce an existing contract expansion with our long-time client Cross Keys Homes.

We have worked with Cross Keys Homes for 18 years and have just signed off for a further 10 years.

Previously the Kitchen installations have been sub-contracted out and now we are bringing it all in house! If you want to work for a company that values longevity along with an experience workforce this might be for you!

As part of our Kitchen Installation team youll play a key role in transforming peoples homes delivering high-quality kitchen refurbishments that make a real difference to residents. Youll work alongside a supportive and experienced team that takes pride in delivering excellent workmanship maintaining high standards and providing outstanding customer service.

From the removal of existing kitchens through to the installation of new modern spaces youll see the impact of your work firsthand. About the Role:

You will carry out a variety of internal painting and decorating tasks across properties.

This is a hands-on role requiring precision professionalism and a strong eye for detail. Youll be responsible for preparing surfaces applying finishes and ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards. Youll work independently and as part of a wider maintenance team helping return properties to a lettable or liveable condition efficiently and to a high standard.

Role Responsibilities:

• Preparing and painting internal surfaces including walls ceilings doors and woodwork

• Applying emulsion gloss and specialist finishes with care and accuracy

• Wallpapering and decorative detailing where required

• Carrying out external painting at height using ladders including fascia boards and soffits

• Damp & Mould treatment

• Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations

• Supporting void property refurbishments and reactive maintenance tasks

• Conducting snagging and touch-up work following other trades

• Maintaining tools equipment and company vehicle to a high standard

• Communicating professionally with tenants clients and colleagues

• Completing job records and documentation accurately and on time

• Working flexibly to meet deadlines and service expectations

Key Criteria:

• Proven experience in painting and decorating

• NVQ in Painting & Decorating or equivalent

• Experience in the above duties

• Ability to work at height and use ladders safely

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Good communication and customer service skills

• Basic understanding of health and safety practices

• Full UK driving license

All our roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work within the UK Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.

To drive a Mears vehicle you must be aged over 21 have held your licence over 3 months and have less than 9 points.
