Job Summary

Role: Optical Assistant

Location: Lower Ground And Ground Floor Buckenham House 1 Coval Wells Chelmsford CM1 1WZ

This role will be based within our Chelmsford cluster which involves working across multiple sites.

Hours: Full-time position 37.5 hours per week working 4 days out of 6 from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM

Salary: 26250

Responsibilities of the Optical Assistant:

  • Adhere to the principles of clinical governance.
  • Work alongside the optometrists in the day to day running of clinics carrying out the relevant diagnostics examinations.
  • Assist in the running of pre and post-operative clinics for all patients.
  • Act as theatre runner escort in busy theatre environment.
  • Be proficient in company database i.e medisoft
  • Follow correct procedure for reporting any accidents or incidents.
  • Prepare all areas prior to any clinical activities ensuring all equipment is checked and ready for use.
  • Ensure the correct storage of all equipment.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures.
  • Assist with stock control ensuring realistic par levels are maintained and all items are readily available.
  • Manages all the diagnostic and theatre equipment on a daily basis.
  • To ensure patient confidentiality at all times in accordance with GPDR
