This one is about helping move a business forward.

Were recruiting for an established independent Chartered financial planning firm in Stockport that has ambitious plans for its future.

Theyre looking for an experienced Operations Manager who has already worked within a wealth management or financial planning business in a similar operational role and understands the environment the people and the standards that come with it.

Youll work closely with the business owner helping turn ideas into action and making sure the things the business wants to achieve actually happen.

This is an opportunity to sit at the heart of the firm bringing structure accountability and momentum to its plans.

The opportunity

This is a broad leadership role rather than a narrow operational one.

Youll work across people projects systems and processes helping translate the firms longer-term strategy into practical priorities and making sure those priorities are delivered.

That could mean improving an internal process coordinating a business-critical project developing members of the team managing suppliers or helping the firm explore how technology automation and AI could make it even better.

You dont need to be the technical expert in every area.

You do need to be the person who can bring people together create clarity and get things moving.

About the firm

Theyre an independent privately owned Chartered financial planning business with long-standing client relationships some spanning decades.

Its an established and respected firm but one that is very much looking forward.

The business has ambitious growth plans while remaining committed to its independence its clients and the values it has been built around.

Youll therefore be joining somewhere with a strong foundation but plenty of opportunity to influence what comes next.

What were looking for

First and foremost youll need to come from a wealth management or financial planning firm and already have experience working in a similar operational role.

That sector experience matters. Youll understand how a financial planning business operates and be able to bring that knowledge with you from day one.

Alongside that were looking for strong people leadership experience and evidence that youve successfully implemented change and improved business performance. Youll be organised commercially aware and comfortable managing projects and competing priorities.

Just as importantly youll have the confidence to challenge constructively communicate well with different people and turn conversations and ideas into tangible action.

An interest in technology automation and AI would be particularly welcome but this is not an IT role.
