Job Summary

An Outstanding academy in Milton Keynes Buckinghamshire is looking to appoint an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of its facilities and operational services from October Half Term 2026.

This is a hands-on management position covering estates facilities contractors health & safety and compliance with the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders and ensure the school remains safe well maintained and operationally efficient.

The role would suit an experienced Operations Manager Facilities Manager Estates Manager or senior Site Manager who is ready to take the next step in their career.

The Role

You will take responsibility for a broad range of operational areas including:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day operation of the school site

  • Managing maintenance repairs and planned preventative maintenance

  • Coordinating contractors and external service providers

  • Monitoring health & safety and statutory compliance

  • Supporting fire safety risk assessments and site inspections

  • Managing facilities and cleaning services

  • Overseeing site security and visitor arrangements

  • Managing operational budgets and monitoring expenditure

  • Procuring goods and services and negotiating with suppliers

  • Supporting site improvement and development projects

  • Ensuring the school provides a safe and well-maintained environment

About You

Were looking for an experienced operations or facilities professional who is confident managing people contractors and competing priorities.

Previous experience within a school academy or education setting would be advantageous although candidates from commercial public-sector or facilities backgrounds with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.

Youll need strong organisational and communication skills good knowledge of health and safety requirements and the ability to deal calmly with unexpected issues.
