We are seeking an Operations Manager (Commissioning) to be based from home with regular travel across Europe and occasional visits to RED offices as required. The role will involve approximately monthly trips to project sites along with at least one visit per month to the London office.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of commissioning managers across a wide range of projects in the commercial residential pharmaceutical and technology sectors

  • Represents Company at meetings with customers professional teams andcontractorsteams as

  • Carries out cost and profit diagnosis onenquiries andprojects including feasibility studies and preparation of fee bids

  • Take ownership of financial reporting on projects

  • Has overall accountability fora number ofprojects both commercially and operationally

  • Holds regular progress meetings with project teams

  • Regularly visits each project in person

  • Day to day decision making on project progressresourcingand direct liaison with and provides advice to client

  • Reviews status advised by project personnel and external parties andmodifiesschedules or plans as required.

  • Manage and plan resources forsite attendances andwitnessingforall projects

  • Provide Bid support for securing new projects

  • Managethecommissioningreviewprocess fordesign drawingsspecificationsand technical submittalsin order toproduce a commission-ability review

  • Managethe reviewprocess forcommissioning Tech Subs for technical content and contract compliance and organise workshops with Trade Contractors and the Client toexpeditesign off

  • Ensure all project deliverables are agreed andare managed

  • Manageproduction of/produce a commissioning planfor all projects

  • Manageproduction of/produce a commissioning programmeas

  • Manage the review process for project commissioning programmes

  • Ensure projecttest and commissioning documentation is produced

  • Manage theproject set upfor the purposes of managing the commissioning process

  • Carry out Commissioning Kick Off meeting for all new projects with the client design teamcontractorsand vendors

  • Organise all equipment factory acceptance testing (FAT)as
  • Manage the production ofreports following FAT visits

  • Ensure project progress reports for Management Client or others are produced and issued.

  • Managethe preparation of the L1 L2andL3 commissioning documentswith the project delivery team

  • Manage the production of thelevel 4 and 5 test scriptswith theprojectdelivery team

  • Attend commissioning meetings to drive the time management and resource planning with Consultant and Contractors

  • Liaise with Consultant and Contractors in a proactive manner to close out commissioning issues arising

  • Ensure allprojectcompletion documentation and reportsare produced as

  • Support the delivery of projectsin accordance withthe expectations of the RED Project Delivery Process from a Project Management Financial Management QA/QC and Technical Review perspective.

  • Manage and mentor other team members

  • Mentor GraduateCommissioning Managers

  • Actively engage with the different RED departmentsto increasecommissioningawareness and develop working interfaces

  • Work in coordination with theprojectteamsto develop and improve commissioning processes andprocedures

  • Activelyengage in business developmentboth internally and externally

  • Support the CPD process to arrangeandmanageappropriate commissioningCPD seminars

Role Requirements

  • Degree qualifiedor HNC/HND appropriate experienceor equivalent

  • Hold membership to the IET/MCIBSE/IMechE

  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards

  • Fully conversant with ASHRAE testing levels 1-5

  • Understanding of BSRIA and CIBSE guidelines

  • Understanding of relevant British and European standards

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Financial management/ reporting

  • Sound working knowledge of Contracts desirable but not essential

  • Understanding of equipment tagging systems

  • Strong use of Microsoft suite of software

  • Understanding ofsoftware and platforms such asBIM360 Facility Grid

  • Ability to producecommissioningprogrammes in Microsoft Project

  • Good communicationskills with all parties including client team

  • Develop good positive relationships with all parties involved in the commissioning delivery process

  • Ability to prioritise own workload

  • Resource management

  • Ability to work to deadlines

  • Management of peoplemotivationLeadershipand mentoringskills

  • Management of situations - organisational

  • Chair control and minute regular meetings

  • Strong report writing skills

  • Good attention to detail

  • Problem solving skills

  • Act in an ethical manner and follows the principles of the Ethics Charter and Ethics in Practice Guidelines

  • Good understanding of international working and business operations of a global consultancy.
