Oncology Pharmacist Pharmacy Full Time Permanent Leeds LS8
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Oncology Pharmacist to join the pharmacy team on a full time permanent basis.
- Full Time 37.5hrs per week
- Monday Friday shift pattern with an on-call rota for Saturdays

Spire Leeds Hospital located in Roundhay Leeds has been treating patients for almost 30 years. We are the regions largest private hospital in terms of the range of services we offer and the number of consultants we work with. The hospital offers a range of services and facilities including four operating theatres a sterile services department a dedicated endoscopy suite and a diagnostic and imaging department with an MRI and CT scanner. There are outpatient and physiotherapy departments providing services six days per week
Duties and responsibilities
To provide anexemplary pharmacy service in accordance withcurrent legislation acceptedprofessionalandethicalstandardsandclinicalrequirementsberesponsible forleading managing anddeliveringthe specialist pharmacy service of provide advice and support to consultants other clinicians and patients ensuring the safe appropriate and cost effective use ofmedicines. Toadvisethe hospitalanditsdepartments onthesafemanagementof medicinesensuringcompliance withcurrent legislationandprofessionalstandards. Promoteamultidisciplinarypatientfocusedapproachtothedeliveryofan efficient high quality healthcare service. Useindependentprescribingtoenhancepatientexperiencewithintheindividuals competency to do so.
- Assess thehealthandwell-beingof patients whose needsmaybecomplex and changing within thecontextoftheirmedicines.
- Diagnose monitorprescribe and safeguard medicines accordingto independent practice and competency.
- Planmonitorandevaluatethemovementofmedicines.
- Establishandmaintaineffectivecommunicationwithvariousindividualsandgroups oncomplexsensitiveandoccasionallycontentiousissuesinarangeofsituations.
- Leadothersinthedevelopmentofknowledgeideasandworkpractice.
- Modifyandstructuredatainformationcomputerrecordsandstockmanagement documents.
- Delegatework toothers
- Planmonitorandqualityassuretheapplicationoftechnologyfortheprovisionof chemotherapy treatment

- Previousexperienceasapharmacistspecialisingintheprovisionofanoncology service is essential

- Experience ofworking with cytotoxic medicines and preparingchemotherapy.
- Competenceacrossarangeofskillssupportedbyprofessionalknowledgein oncology.
- Experienceofworkinginpartnershipwithconsultantsandparticipatingincreating innovative solutionfor newoncology services.
- Challengingconsultantstoinfluenceevidencebasedpractice
- Numeracy skills
