Job Description

A front-row seat to the science of work

When it comes to shaping how one of the UKs largest organisations works traditional HR can only take us so far. We need data that leaves no room for guesswork. Technology that keeps people and processes connected. And strategy thats born out of insight. Exactly what our People & Places teams do every single day.

But they dont do it alone. Our occupational psychologists are the people behind the people using behavioural science research and insight to understand what makes work work better. Join us on the Occupational Psychology Graduate Scheme and see how it all happens up close.

2 years. Three rotations.

Youll do the hard yards in a training-to-profession scheme that puts you front and centre of occupational psychology in action. And along the way youll:

  • Bring your scientific know-how insight and creativity to the most important challenges we face as an organisation

  • Understand how psychology is used in a real business setting

  • Help improve performance and wellbeing by improving how we work and make decisions

The work you could be doing

Throughout the scheme youll find yourself touching a range of projects within the People function. Whether its assessment and selection or performance and development youll back every decision you make with data and research. Youll also:

  • Decode how collaboration office design and colleague experience can drive engagement productivity and wellbeing

  • Conduct applied research and lead projects to uncover what drives performance

  • Evaluate our existing people systems and frameworks and understand how we can improve performance management leadership capability and talent processes

  • Analyse colleague data to explain patterns challenge assumptions and influence how the organisation functions

  • Create frameworks and guidance that make way for occupational psychology to be used throughout the business

  • Design fair and effective assessments that improve how we evaluate potential performance and development

And whatever you do you wont be doing it alone. A dedicated supervisor will always have your back so youll stay on track with your own development as well. Youll also have access to a growing community of Occupational Psychologists across the Group giving you plenty of opportunities to learn and make your mark as part of a function thats always evolving.

What youll take away

By the end of the scheme youll have the skills the confidence and the experience to apply psychology in a commercial environment where everything you do will improve how we work together to serve our customers. Youll also complete a fully funded Stage 2 training working towards Chartered Psychologist status.
