About the role

Just got your Class 1 Licence DFDS Killingholme is opening the door to new HGV drivers looking to build a long-term career in transport and logistics. We are offering full support for newly qualified driver and committed to helping you succeed from day one with hands-on training real-world driving opportunities and a pathway to a stable and rewarding career.

Alongside training the role will involve:

• Safely operating Class 1 vehicles to transport goods to and from the Port of Immingham.

• Ensuring timely and efficient delivery in line with DFDS schedules and customer expectations.

• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and report any defects or maintenance needs promptly.

• Accurately completing all relevant paperwork and use on-board systems as required.

• Adhering to all road safety regulations tachograph laws and company policies.

• Communicating effectively with port staff planners and the DFDS transport team.

• Maintaining a professional and courteous attitude at all times representing DFDS standards.

About you

The ideal candidate will be a newly qualified or experienced Class 1 (CE) driver who holds a valid CPC qualification and a Digital Tachograph (DIGI) card. They should demonstrate a strong work ethic a commitment to safety and a willingness to develop their skills within a busy logistics operation. Reliability punctuality and confidence in handling articulated vehicles are essential along with a sound understanding of transport regulations. Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude are key as the role involves working closely with DFDS teams and port personnel. A flexible approach to working hours and a desire to grow within a leading logistics company will help the candidate succeed in this role.
