Job Overview

Music plays a central role in this schools co-curricular and academic framework. The successful candidate will deliver engaging practical and theoretical Music lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE Music / Vocational Music Practice) with potential Key Stage 5 A-Level Music / Music Technology delivery.

Working alongside departmental colleagues and peripatetic instrumental tutors you will lead practical workshops in keyboard skills composition ensemble performance and digital audio production. This is a full-time ongoing or permanent post.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach inspiring Music lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE / Vocational Music)

• Guide pupils through composition projects using music software packages (e.g. Logic Pro Sibelius GarageBand)

• Direct and support extra-curricular music ensembles choirs bands and seasonal school concert performances

• Assess track and report on pupil progress across practical performance coursework portfolios and listening exams

• Maintain practice suites recording technology and instrument inventories safely

• Serve as a Form Tutor providing holistic pastoral support and academic tracking

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognized UK teaching credentials (PGCE / SCITT)

• Honors degree in Music Music Performance Music Technology or a closely related discipline

• Strong practical musical skills (keyboard/piano proficiency highly advantageous) and digital software literacy

• Proven track record (or clear potential during training) for delivering strong GCSE/Vocational Music outcomes
