A well-regarded Community School in Ilford is seeking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic Music Teacher to join its thriving Performing Arts department from September. You will teach Music across Key Stage 3 Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 delivering inspiring lessons that foster creativity confidence and musical excellence.

Students explore a wide range of musical genres traditions and styles while developing practical performance skills composition techniques music technology expertise and analytical understanding. You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Music qualifications supporting them in achieving excellent outcomes.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the schools extracurricular music programme including concerts ensembles productions choirs and performance events.

• Teach Music across KS3 KS4 and KS5

• Deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons

• Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Music examinations

• Support performance composition and music technology projects

• Organise and lead concerts ensembles and musical events

• Assess student work and provide detailed constructive feedback

• Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development

• Promote participation in extracurricular music activities

Essential Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Experience teaching Music at secondary level

• Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently

• Strong practical and theoretical musical knowledge

• Excellent classroom management and communication skills

Desirable

• Experience teaching A-Level Music

• Experience directing ensembles choirs or orchestras

• Ability to teach Music Technology

• Commitment to developing a vibrant extracurricular music programme
