The Role

Synergi Recruitment is recruiting for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established food manufacturing business based in Hertfordshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer to join a busy production environment working on a range of manufacturing and packaging equipment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance minimising downtime and ensuring production machinery operates efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the site.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults on production machinery.
• Work on conveyors gearboxes motors pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Carry out welding fabrication and mechanical repairs where required.
• Maintain and repair packaging machinery ovens fryers and other production equipment.
• Support continuous improvement projects to improve equipment reliability.
• Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime.

Skills and Experience Required

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Previous maintenance engineering experience within food manufacturing or FMCG.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills.
• Experience with welding and fabrication ideally MIG/TIG.
• Good understanding of electrical fault-finding PLCs sensors and variable speed drives.
• Experience working on automated production or packaging machinery.
• Ability to work independently within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
