Rotational 12-hour shifts - 6am-6pm (2 days 2 nights 4 off)

Salary starting at 33000 BONUS

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Metal Shearer to operate industrial shearing machinery used to cut sheet metal and metal components to precise measurements and specifications. The successful candidate will ensure high-quality output while maintaining safety and efficiency within the fabrication workshop.

Key Responsibilities;

• Operate guillotine/shearing machines to cut metal sheets plates and components accurately.
• Read and interpret technical drawings work orders and cutting schedules.
• Measure and mark materials using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Set up and adjust machine settings according to material type and thickness.
• Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards and dimensional accuracy.
• Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on shearing equipment.
• Handle and move metal materials safely using lifting equipment where required.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area in line with health and safety regulations.
• Report equipment faults material shortages or production issues to supervisors.
• Work collaboratively with fabrication and production teams to meet deadlines.

Skills & Experience Required;

• Previous experience operating metal shearing or fabrication machinery preferred.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and use measuring instruments accurately.
• Good understanding of metal fabrication processes and workshop safety practices.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Physically fit and capable of handling heavy materials.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Relevant engineering fabrication or manufacturing qualifications are beneficial.
• Health & Safety training desirable.
• Numerical / Analytically minded
