Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Site Supervisor to join our client to oversee and coordinate mechanical building services installations across projects in Northern Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing site operations ensuring work is completed safely efficiently and to the highest quality standards while maintaining programme targets and client expectations.

The role requires strong leadership skills technical knowledge of mechanical systems and the ability to coordinate effectively with contractors subcontractors and project teams on site.


Key Responsibilities
Site Supervision & Management
  • Supervise and coordinate daily mechanical installation activities including HVAC systems pipework public health services and associated plant installations.

  • Manage subcontractors direct labour and site operatives to ensure works are completed safely and efficiently.

  • Ensure all installations are carried out in accordance with project drawings specifications standards and construction programmes.

  • Monitor site productivity progress and workmanship to maintain programme milestones.

  • Allocate labour and resources effectively to meet project deadlines.


Health Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce company Health & Safety policies and site procedures at all times.

  • Ensure all personnel comply with Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS) and permit-to-work systems.

  • Conduct daily site briefings toolbox talks and safety inspections.

  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure safe systems of work are maintained throughout the project.

  • Identify and address potential hazards unsafe practices and non-compliance issues promptly.


Quality Assurance
  • Inspect mechanical installations to ensure compliance with design specifications industry standards and project requirements.

  • Identify defects installation issues or poor workmanship and implement corrective actions promptly.

  • Maintain high standards of quality across all mechanical works.

  • Assist with commissioning activities testing procedures and project handover requirements.


Programme Coordination
  • Liaise and coordinate with the main contractor consultants suppliers and other trades on site.

  • Attend coordination and progress meetings as required.

  • Identify and resolve clashes sequencing issues and site coordination challenges.

  • Ensure materials equipment and plant are delivered and available in line with project schedules.


Technical Support & Oversight
  • Review construction drawings and specifications prior to installation and highlight any issues or discrepancies.

  • Provide technical feedback regarding buildability coordination and installation methods.

  • Assist with resolving technical queries RFIs and design-related issues.

  • Support value engineering initiatives and identify practical site solutions where appropriate.

  • Ensure correct installation methods and best practices are followed throughout the project lifecycle.


Commercial Awareness
  • Monitor labour performance material usage and site productivity.

  • Assist in identifying project variations delays and additional works.

  • Provide accurate progress updates and site reporting to the Contracts Manager and project team.

  • Support effective cost control and efficient use of site resources.


Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date site documentation including:

    • Daily site diaries

    • Labour allocation records

    • Progress reports

    • Health & Safety documentation

  • Ensure all site paperwork is completed signed and maintained in compliance with company procedures.

  • Assist in compiling commissioning records and O&M manuals for project handover.


Essential Criteria
  • Proven experience in a Mechanical Site Supervisor Mechanical Foreman or similar supervisory role within the building services sector.

  • Strong background in mechanical building services installations.

  • Good working knowledge of:

    • HVAC systems

    • Pipework installations

    • Mechanical plant installations

    • Public health services

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.

  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations and site compliance requirements.

  • Excellent communication organisational and leadership skills.

  • Ability to coordinate multiple trades and maintain programme delivery within a live construction environment.


Desirable Qualifications
  • Relevant mechanical or building services qualification.

  • First Aid qualification.

  • Experience working on commercial industrial or large-scale construction projects
