Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Our client is a leading supplier of high-quality meat poultry and frozen products.

Job Role & Key Responsibilities:

We are recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join an established engineering team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining production equipment minimising downtime and supporting the smooth running of site operations.
Working on a rotating shift pattern you will carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of mechanical machinery using your fault-finding skills to keep equipment operating efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out planned preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across production and packing equipment
• Support equipment reliability and reduce machinery downtime
• Complete maintenance tasks safely and efficiently
• Work collaboratively as part of a shift engineering team
• Identify opportunities for improvements and support ongoing site performance

The Ideal Candidate will have:

• Previous experience in mechanical maintenance
• A background within an industrial manufacturing or production environment
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Experience working with production machinery
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• A proactive approach with strong attention to detail

Desirable Skills:

• Experience within the food manufacturing industry
• Knowledge of a range of mechanical systems and equipment
• Experience working within a continuous production environment
