About the Role
Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineering professional with a passion for inspiring the next generation of engineers Or are you an established FE lecturer looking for a role that combines teaching with vocational assessment
Your role will include working as workplace assessor for an assigned caseload of engineering apprentices and college-based delivery of high-quality practical and theoretical training across Mechanical Engineering from levels 1 to 3 ensuring learners develop the knowledge skills and behaviours required by modern engineering companies.
You will teach and assess across a broad range of subjects which may include:
Health & Safety in Engineering
Principles of Engineering and Manufacturing Technology
Machine Components using Milling and Turning Techniques
Bench Fitting Techniques
Engineering Mathematics
3D Manufacturing and CAD
Requirements
Must-Have:
A Higher Level engineering qualification or appropriate Level 3 technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline
Proven practical experience in a Mechanical engineering environment
Experience of teaching training or assessing others in an engineering context
Assessor qualification or willingness to work towards one with college support
A recognised teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one-the college will actively support you in achieving this
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse groups of learners
Good IT skills and experience using digital tools for teaching and assessment
Nice-to-Have:
Internal Quality Assurer (IQA/V1) qualification or experience of standardisation and verification
Experience of apprenticeship delivery EPA processes or tripartite review management
Knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies CNC systems
Experience working with 1618-year-olds adult learners and/or engineering apprentices
Familiarity with engineering awarding bodies such as City & Guilds EAL or Pearson
Experience of curriculum development and VLE content creation
