Job Summary

As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will be responsible for the design and assessment of pressure-retaining components and equipment ensuring compliance with applicable codes standards and project requirements.

Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team you will undertake mechanical calculations support design development activities and contribute to the delivery of safe reliable and compliant engineering solutions.

  • Experience Level: 3- 8 YOE 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop pressure equipment and mechanical components in accordance with project specifications.
  • Perform engineering calculations for pressure vessels piping components and associated systems.
  • Prepare and review technical design documentation drawings calculations and engineering reports.
  • Apply ASME codes and standards during the design and verification process.
  • Support stress assessments and structural evaluations of pressure-retaining equipment.
  • Conduct and review design justification activities to ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Work closely with manufacturing analysis and project teams to support successful project delivery.
  • Participate in design reviews and technical discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the resolution of technical issues throughout the design lifecycle.
  • Ensure engineering activities are delivered in accordance with quality safety and project requirements.

Qualifications :

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience working with pressure vessels or pressure-retaining equipment.
  • Strong understanding of ASME codes and standards ideally including pressure vessel design requirements.
  • Experience performing ASME design calculations and engineering assessments.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings specifications and technical standards.
  • Knowledge of materials manufacturing processes and mechanical design principles.
  • Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills.
     

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent military experience.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience performing or supporting Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Exposure to pressure vessel stress analysis and fatigue assessments.
  • Experience within the energy nuclear oil & gas power generation or process industries.
  • Familiarity with design software and engineering analysis tools.
  • Understanding of relevant international pressure equipment regulations and standards.
