They are searching for a skilled and creative minded team member to fit and assemble complex machine unit assemblies such as Spindles Clamps Automation Lubrication Pneumatics Hydraulics and other mechanical sub-assemblies and the fit / assemble those units within the general assembly of the friction welding machine by using assembly drawings and schematics. A member of the MTI Machinery Build Team who is responsible for the build of sub-assembly units. This position is then responsible for the integration of these units onto the overall machine build of Friction Welding Machinery which also includes the installation and upgrades on-site at the customers location - both within the UK and Worldwide.
This position is an integral part of their Operations team. They are seeking a focused detailed-oriented team member with uncompromisingly high standards and solid work ethic coupled with a strong desire to learn.
Come and be a part of MTIs Company initiative of Up Front Planning by participating in a series of meetings held prior to the project build phase on the release of each unit from the design phase. Your expertise will be valued and heard as you take advantage of this opportunity to review and voice any concerns on each design and also identify all materials required to support the Mechanical Build sequence.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Fitting / assembly of various unit assemblies using assembly drawings.
- Read detailed Hydraulic Lubrication & Pneumatic Schematics.
- Installation of Hydraulic Lubrication & Pnuematic systems.
- Integrate vendor automation conveyors robots and guarding
- Communicate any problems with parts to build & engineering department.
- Onsite installation / upgrades / break downs of machinery at customers premises UK & Worldwide.
- Communicate with customers in a professional and knowledgeable manner.
- Inspect parts from a drawing using various inspection equipment.
- Operate machine shop equipment such as Miller Lather Surface grinder ect.
- Continuously reviews/improves engineering processes.
- Contributes to MTIs Upfront planning initiative.
- Helps develop strategies and processes to ensure on-time delivery of equipment cost reduction opportunities and performance improvements.
- Promotes cultural values and behavior in others (Respectful Purposeful Integrity Collaborative Adaptable Positive Attitude Excellence Effective Communication.
- Occasionally supports MTIs Subcontract department with machine breakdowns machine operations and pre / post machining.
- Perform other assignments as requested by supervisor or manager.

Required Education and/or Experience
- City and Guild Mechanical Engineering and/or BTECH Mechanical Engineering
- Machine Tool Fitter Experience
- Bespoke machine building experience preferred
