An Outstanding secondary school in Redbridge is seeking a committed and motivated Maths Teacher to join its Mathematics department. The school is looking for a teacher who can make mathematical concepts accessible encourage logical thinking and help students build the confidence to tackle increasingly challenging problems.

The successful candidate will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 supporting students with different levels of prior attainment and preparing them for GCSE Mathematics. You will deliver well-structured lessons that develop students mathematical fluency reasoning and problem-solving abilities. Topics will include number algebra ratio proportion geometry statistics and probability.

Responsibilities include:

• Planning and delivering engaging Mathematics lessons across KS3 and KS4.

• Teaching mathematical concepts clearly and systematically.

• Preparing students for GCSE assessments and examinations.

• Developing students confidence with calculations and multi-step problems.

• Using questioning and regular assessment to identify misconceptions.

• Differentiating lessons to support students who require additional guidance.

• Providing challenging activities for students ready to progress further.

• Marking work and providing clear constructive feedback.

• Monitoring progress and adapting teaching to improve outcomes.

• Encouraging students to explain their reasoning and develop independent learning habits.

• Establishing positive classroom routines and maintaining high expectations.

• Working collaboratively with Mathematics colleagues on curriculum planning and shared resources.

• Demonstrate effective lesson planning and classroom management.

• Use assessment to identify gaps and inform future teaching.

• Explain mathematical concepts clearly and encourage independent thinking.

• Maintain high expectations and contribute positively to departmental development.

The role is paid on the MPS1UPS3 scale depending on qualifications and experience.
