Maths Teaching Role in an Independent School

An independent school in Sheffield is seeking to appoint an ambitious and knowledgeable Maths Teacher to join its successful department from September. About the Role

You will teach Mathematics across Key Stage 3 Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 delivering engaging and intellectually stimulating lessons that inspire curiosity and support excellent academic progress.

Students will study topics including algebra geometry trigonometry statistics probability calculus and mathematical reasoning while developing strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Mathematics examinations supporting students in achieving excellent outcomes and progression to higher education and STEM-related pathways.

You will work collaboratively within a successful Mathematics department while benefiting from smaller class sizes excellent resources and a strong focus on personalised learning.


Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Mathematics across KS3 KS4 and KS5

  • Deliver engaging and challenging lessons across the Maths curriculum

  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Mathematics examinations

  • Assess student work and provide detailed constructive feedback

  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records

  • Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development

  • Support Maths enrichment intervention or extracurricular activities

  • Maintain high standards of classroom engagement and achievement

Candidate Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level

  • Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently

  • Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

Desirable

  • Experience teaching A-Level Mathematics or Further Mathematics

  • Experience working in an independent school setting

  • Ability to contribute to Maths clubs competitions or enrichment opportunities

  • Strong track record of examination success
