Maths Teaching Role in a Grammar School
A grammar school in Cambridge is seeking to appoint a Maths Teacher to join its department from September. This is a full-time role within an academically ambitious environment that values high achievement analytical thinking and outstanding outcomes in Mathematics.
Mathematics is a highly successful subject within the school with strong uptake at GCSE and A-Level. Students are encouraged to develop confidence in reasoning problem-solving and advanced mathematical thinking.
About the Role
You will teach Mathematics across Key Stage 3 Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that support learners of varying abilities while stretching high-attaining students.
The role includes preparing students for GCSE and A-Level Mathematics examinations with a strong emphasis on mathematical fluency reasoning algebraic thinking and exam technique.
You will contribute to intervention challenge programmes and enrichment opportunities including mathematical competitions and extension activities.
You will work collaboratively within a successful Maths department to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Mathematics across KS3 KS4 and KS5
Deliver engaging and differentiated Maths lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Mathematics examinations
Assess student work and provide clear constructive feedback
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Support intervention and mathematical enrichment activities
Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and engagement

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level or Further Mathematics
Experience preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations
Ability to contribute to mathematical enrichment activities
