Manager – Accounts Receivable & Payable

We are seeking a Manager - Accounts Receivable & Payable to join our client a respected and growing team in Bedford NS. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on professional who is confident in taking ownership of the full AR/AP cycle while supporting a team and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency. The ideal candidate will be tech-savvy solutions-oriented and comfortable using systems and automation to improve accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

• Oversee the day-to-day Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions including billing collections vendor payments reconciliations and related reporting
• Lead support and coordinate the workload of one AR Clerk and one AP Clerk
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce manual work
• Support month-end activities related to AR/AP including reconciliations accruals variance follow-up and preparation of supporting schedules for review by the CFO
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure accounting processes are followed consistently
• Monitor outstanding receivables and support effective collection processes
• Oversee vendor payments and assist with resolving invoice and payment discrepancies
• Prepare and review reports and reconciliations to support accurate financial reporting
• Provide coaching guidance and day-to-day leadership
• Identify opportunities to leverage technology and accounting systems to streamline workflows

• Post-secondary education in accounting coupled with hands-on relevant management experience
• CPA or CA designation is considered an asset but is not required
• Experience with Yardi is a strong asset
• Strong understanding of accounting principles reconciliations and month-end processes
• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
• Tech-savvy with an interest in process improvement automation and using technology to improve efficiency
• Strong problem-solving and follow-through skills with the ability to carry tasks through to completion
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with internal and external stakeholders
