Maintenance Technician
Job Summary
- General Maintenance - Carry out routine repairs across guest rooms public areas spa leisure facilities and backofhouse spaces.
- Preventative Tasks - Complete scheduled inspections and servicing to reduce downtime and prevent equipment failures.
- HVAC & Electrical Support - Assist with basic electrical plumbing heating and cooling system troubleshooting.
- Safety Compliance - Ensure all work meets health safety and regulatory standards; report hazards promptly.
- Guest Support - Respond to guest maintenance requests professionally ensuring issues are resolved efficiently.
- Equipment Care - Maintain tools and machinery ensuring they are safe clean and ready for use.
- Collaboration - Work closely with the wider engineering and housekeeping teams to support smooth operations.
- Record Keeping - Log completed work report recurring issues and support assetmanagement processes.
- Emergency Response - Act quickly during urgent situations such as leaks power issues or equipment failures.
Please note that we believe in flexibility and multi-skilling and you may be asked to do different tasks from time to time to enable us to meet the needs of our guests and colleagues.
Qualifications :
- Diploma or vocational certification in mechanical maintenance building services facilities operations or equivalent experience
- 23 years experience in a maintenance or technician role within hospitality leisure or facilities management
- Knowledge of building systems including mechanical plant hotel infrastructure and general facilities equipment
- Troubleshooting ability to diagnose and resolve a wide range of mechanical and technical issues
- Mechanical competence with safe use of tools components and repair practices
- Ability to interpret documentation such as maintenance manuals safety guidelines and technical diagrams
- Effective communication with guests and colleagues; proficient in written and spoken English
- Strong organisation with the ability to prioritise tasks and maintain attention to detail
- Commitment to safety and service focused on operational excellence and guest satisfaction
- Professional conduct demonstrating integrity teamwork and presentation aligned with Fairmont brand standards
